TENI is hiring a Research and Policy Manager on a full time, permanent contract to support our work.

Role Overview

TENI  is hiring a Research and Policy Manager to support our work.

The Research and Policy Manager will be responsible for developing TENI’s policy positions on key issues affecting the trans community. They will be required to represent these positions in stakeholder meetings, public forums and meetings with government officials.

This person will also maintain and manage all research opportunities for TENI. 

The Research and Policy Manager will be a key member of TENI’s leadership team, with some people management responsibilities. 

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working within the policy space, and will have good knowledge of the key issues affecting trans and non binary people in Ireland today. 


Main Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

  • Support strategic direction of TENI as a member of the management team.
  • Support funding applications and funding reports.
  • Manage research and policy team.

Policy and Advocacy

  • Develop TENI policy positions across key issues.
  • Engage with stakeholders and policymakers on policy areas.
  • Represent TENI nationally and internationally through steering committees, advisory groups, conferences, etc. as relevant.
  • Collaborate and manage relationships with NGOs and other partners.

Research

  • Coordinate incoming research requests across the staff team.
  • Support staff to engage with research projects in line with TENI research engagement framework.
  • Where relevant, lead/support funded research projects being carried out by TENI.

Training and Policy Support

  • Lead training advertising and outreach.
  • Coordinate training requests across the staff team.
  • Provide high-level policy guidance and review to workplaces developing internal inclusion policies.

Other Responsibilities

  • Develop a monthly report for funding bodies.
  • Develop a monthly report for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
  • Respond to and track all engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in policy development and review.
  • Experience in advocacy.
  • Experience working with researchers.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience, which can include lived experience, working with the trans community.
  • Willingness to travel on occasion.
  • Experience in Project Management.

Terms and conditions

This position will be full time, 5 days per week (37.5 hours). This is a permanent contract.
