TENI Welcomes New Community Engagement Officer.

TENI Welcomes New Community Engagement Officer.

TENI is delighted to announce that we have hired Saoirse Mackin as our new Community Engagement Officer.

Saoirse will join us starting October 23rd. She has extensive experience in training and community organising. She is a co-founder of Trans+ Pride Cork, which held it’s third event this summer. She was also very briefly a board member of TENI, before being hired as permanent staff.

TENI staff had this to say about her hiring.

“We are so excited to have Saoirse starting with us! This role is so important to the work we do at TENI, and to have someone with Saoirse’s experience and enthusiasm is just brilliant. I can’t wait for her to start!” – Aisling Dolan, Operations Manager

“Delighted to have Saoirse joining the TENI team, can’t wait to meet her.” – Hannah Solley, Family and Youth Services Officer

“Looking forward to having Saoirse on board, and to working together going forward!” – Noah Halpin, Healthcare Officer

Saoirse also shared the following: “ “I have been a member of TENI since 2018, and after recently serving for a brief period on the Board – I am delighted to be joining the TENI team full-time. In recent years, because of grassroots campaigners and organisations, Ireland has taken significant steps to make our country more inclusive and to better recognise those of us who are often left out of the conversation. I am honoured to have been able to play a small part in that change, including the Marriage Equality Referendum, and the Referendum to Repeal the 8th Amendment. In my new role with TENI, I hope to be able to use my experience in campaigning and leadership to ensure we continue to progress forward as a society and I’m very excited to see what we can achieve in the future.”
