Make A Submission To The Gender Recognition Act Review Group
The Department of Social Protection is undertaking a review of the Gender Recognition Act 2015. The Review will examine how well the Gender Recognition Act is operating and any problems with the legislation.
Issues for Consideration
The Review Group has promised to examine five key areas. These are:
1. Arrangements for children aged 16 to 17 years;
2. Arrangements for children aged under 16 years;
3. Arrangements for persons who identify as neither male nor female (e.g. non-binary);
4. Arrangements for intersex people;
5. Any other relevant issues, including issues relating to the operation of the current legislative provisions (i.e. the Gender Recognition Act 2015).
Consultation Process
To help the Review Group determine what the key issues are and what type of reform is needed, they would like to hear from you. They want to know the type of changes you think are important and how these changes should be made.

To assist you to make a submission, TENI has produced a handy template. You can use this template to make your submission to the Review Group on the issues that you think are important. You can send in your submission by email or post. Your submission can be typed or hand written. It can be short, medium or long. You can include additional supporting documentation either as a reference or as an appendix.

Deadline for Submissions
All submissions must be received by Monday 5th February 2018.
