Happy Christmas from #TeamTENI
Thank you for supporting TENI in 2015. What a fantastic year! Not only did we see the passage of the Gender Recognition Act but we've also seen positive developments in the areas of health, education and employment. This would not have been possible without the work of staff, board, volunteers, families, allies, activists and funders - thank you.

Yesterday (Thursday 3rd December), 380 health professionals attended the first National Transgender Healthcare Conference in Carlow.

Tomorrow (Thursday 3rd December), the HSE will host the first National Transgender Healthcare Conference in Carlow. This event is organised by the HSE in partnership with Transgender Equality Network Ireland (TENI). Over 350 healthcare professionals are registered to attend the conference.

TENI is pleased to announce that An Garda Síochána's PULSE system now includes the possibility of recording transphobia as a motive in an incident. PULSE is a computer system used by the Gardaí to record all incidents and has been updated to allow a variety of discriminatory motives to be entered.

Yesterday (Tuesday 6th October), a roundtable discussion of education partners and NGOs working with young trans people took place in the Department of Education and Skills. The event was organised by Minister for Education and Skills, Jan O’Sullivan, and hosted by Minister Kevin Humphreys.
