Press Release: WHO no longer considers Gender Identity a 'disorder of the mind'

Transgender Equality Network Ireland (TENI) has today welcomed the long-anticipated decision of the World Health Organization to delete references to gender identity disorder and related categories from its classification of mental and behavioural disorders. In the latest revision of the International Classification of Diseases, WHO has removed outdated references toTranssexualism, Dual Role Transvestism and Gender Identity Disorder of Childhood as constituting disorders of personality or behaviour.

TENI Board Election & General Assembly

Please join us for TENI's General Assembly on Saturday 7th October from 3-5pm at the Chocolate Factory. We are excited to launch our annual Activity Report and tell you about the work that we do. This is also your opportunity to tell us what matters to you and what direction you think we should be going. A key part of the General Assembly is the election of new board members. This year we have three spaces to fill. Five passionate, intelligent and qualified people have applied to join TENI's Board of Directors. You can find more out about the candidates below!
