TENI Needs Your Support
Dear friend,
This holiday season we need your help.
We have seen great strides for equality in Ireland this year. But at TENI we know that trans people still face huge challenges in school, at work, in accessing healthcare and in living our daily lives. We want trans people to thrive. We believe that education is key to changing the hearts and minds of Irish society.
We have never asked for your help but we need it now. We know times are tough and we know you don't have a lot of money to spare, but any little bit will help us make a real difference.
Please donate here.
In 2015, TENI embarked on an ambitious training programme. Since January, our small but dedicated staff have delivered 121 trainings to 4,760 individuals in 18 counties across Ireland.
Here is just some of what our training looked like:
- We know healthcare matters to trans people. We delivered 68 trainings to 2,700 healthcare professionals, including HSE staff, psychiatrists/psychologists, counsellors and general practitioners (GPs) on the healthcare needs of trans people.
- We know that our allies count. We worked with 25 LGBT/human rights groups because we know partnerships and solidarity are key to our work.
- We know young trans people need support. Since September, we have gone into 15 primary and post-primary schools to deliver trans awareness training and support to 765 teachers, staff and students.
- We know that unemployment is a major issue in our community. That's why we hosted two Career Development Programmes for trans people this year. We are also working closely with workplaces to help support trans employees. Since August, we have trained Deutsche Bank, Atos, LinkedIn and Accenture to be more trans inclusive.
This holiday season we are turning to our allies, friends and community and asking you to help us keep fighting for trans equality.
Please help us by donating here.
We hope you agree that education is key to making our society a more equal and open place and that trans visibility matters. No matter how big or small - your donation will change lives.
Thank you for anything you can give!
In gratitude,

Broden Giambrone
TENI Chief Executive
