Saying Goodbye to Aoife
TENI is saying goodbye to Office and Communications Manager Aoife O’Driscoll. Aoife has been a member of the TENI team for the past year, and she has brought great expertise and professionalism to the struggle for trans rights in Ireland.
During her time with TENI, Aoife’s contributions have been numerous. Most notably, she has managed TENI’s Positive Visibility Matters campaign, developed the successful Media Guidelines, effectively liaised with key stakeholders, advocated and lobbied for a more inclusive Gender Recognition Bill, and has represented TENI internationally. Most recently Aoife was in London delivering the first ever training on trans* inclusive campaigning to the staff of Amnesty International.
Aoife is leaving TENI to take up a new role in the National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA).
"On behalf of TENI, I would like to wish Aoife great success in her new role. Aoife’s unwavering professionalism has brought a focus and directness to our campaigns and enabled TENI to progress our advocacy in a more coordinated way. Aoife has been a pleasure to work and has brought expertise, skills and humour to the organisation. It is with a fond farewell that we say goodbye to Aoife," said TENI Chief Executive Broden Giambrone.

In Aoife’s own words: “I believe so passionately in the need for us all to share our energies and capacities to fight for trans rights. People should be able to determine their own identities, and people should be protected as they live their own lives. We can only have equality if we all share equal access to rights and protection. No group of people should be left behind.
We need to work together so that trans people have the spaces and opportunities to advocate for the rights and protections they need. It is important that trans voices are heard, and we all have a duty to help this to happen. For all of these reasons, and for so many more, it has been an incredible experience working with TENI to promote the rights and visibility of trans people. I have enjoyed the work, the campaigns, and most importantly the people I have met along the way. And I have learned so much.”
We wish Aoife the very best.
