Register Now for Career Development Workshops for Trans People
Are you struggling to find employment? Would you like to change jobs?
TENI and Express YOUR Gender will host a 5-week programme in January-February 2015 that is designed to help you move forward in your career. These dynamic and interactive workshops will support you to develop the skills and confidence that will help you find the right job.
Week 1: Who are you and what do you want? Learning more about who you are and what you want from your career.
Week 2: What’s great about you? Identifying the skills and strengths you already possess – they are in there!
Week 3: Get that CV written and written well. Hands-on CV writing workshop with recruitment experts from Sigmar Recruitment.
Week 4: Applying for jobs, writing cover letters and doing interviews. Learn valuable interview skills from the Sigmar Team. Communicate who you are and what you can offer effectively.
Week 5: Identifying next steps and creating a supportive network to help you achieve those goals for your career or education.
At the end of this 5-week programme you will:
- Know where you want to go next in your career and have clear, specific goals for getting there.
- Have a professional, workable CV that you are proud of.
- Know what your best skills and attributes are and what gaps in your skill-set you need to address (and how to address them).
- Understand the job application process and how to put your best foot forward in interviews.
- Be part of a supportive network of trans jobseekers who understand the challenges you may be facing.
Cost: €5.00 per person per workshop. All 5 sessions €20.00 (20% discount if booked in advance or refunded upon completion).
Places are limited to 12 per workshop. Priority will be given to individuals who enrol in all 5 sessions. Individuals who complete the full programme will receive a certificate.
The programme commences on Wednesday 28th January 2015 at 10.00-13.00, followed by a light lunch. These sessions will run for 5 weeks on Wednesdays and take place in the TENI office (4 Ellis Quay, Dublin 7).
