TENI and Accenture have teamed up to create Ireland's first trans leadership summit, Telling MY Story. The summit will take place on Saturday and Sunday, 19th and 20th November 2016, at Accenture in Grand Canal Square, Dublin.
Telling MY Story will be an empowering and inspiring weekend, with lots of practical advice on communication, careers and advocacy, and we want you to be part of it!
What can you expect from Telling MY Story?
- Learn how to tell your story with confidence by improving your communication skills.
- Discover ways to talk about your trans journey positively, clearly and succinctly.
- Gain an understanding of keywords and anchors, and how they can they can help you to "build your brand."
- Get advice on applying for roles and how to navigate the recruitment and interview process.
- Develop and practice your networking skills.
- Uncover your competencies and create your own personal "roadmap" to success.
- Hear how trans leaders used their stories to effect change.
If you want some help with your job search; if you're a recent graduate; if you're considering a change in your career; if you would like to develop your leadership skills; if your life is in need of a boost - then Telling MY Story is for you!
If you're trans, intersex or questioning your gender identity and you would like to participate in Telling MY Story, then please complete our online application form. The closing date for applications is 10th November 2016. Telling MY Story is open to those over 18 only.

Saturday, 19th November
Day one will be facilitated by Ian Bell.
Ian Bell is an international trainer, coach and presenter. Over the past 20 years he has developed a strong reputation for delivering, stimulating, thought-provoking, and highly engaging workshops. His pragmatic approach and captivating, learner-focused style supports participants as they develop skills which they can deploy immediately in the real world confidently, comfortably and effectively. In 2016 alone, Ian has delivered his workshops in locations including Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Malta, Melbourne, Oslo, Paris, Sydney, Toronto and Vancouver.
Ian’s began his career in the Financial Services industry although his clients now hail from sectors ranging from Financial Services to Law to Nursing to Engineering to Logistics to Technology. Ian lives in Hampshire, in the South of England with his wife, Debbie and their black Labrador, Tess. Ian & Debbie have a son and a daughter who are in their 20s.

16:00 - 16:30 - Sara's Story: Sara Phillips tells her story of transitioning in the workplace
Sara Phillips has been involved with the trans community for over 20 years and has been a member of TENI since its inception in 2006. Sara is now in her second term as Chair having originally been appointed to the position in November 2012. For over 4 years Sara was the facilitator of the Dublin Trans Peer Support Group and is still a member of its steering committee. She has extensive experience & education in group facilitation and support mechanisms. She is presently National Manager [Ireland] for an American, multinational, construction coatings company. She has experience in international business, company management and previously ran her own businesses in the construction and entertainment industries. She is also a proud parent of 3 adult children.
